PS. I LOVE THE PARKER PALM SPRINGS

In 2004 the Former Mery Griffin’s Resort and Givenchy Spa property Asked Jonathan Adler to Design the Parker Palm Springs Hotel.  This hotel is on my favorite places to escape when I need a quick break from the city of Angeles also known as LA.  This hotel has a vibe everyone can aspire.  Not only is it comfy, it is also very glamorous with  mood-enhancing energies that is appealingly eccentric. With Jonathan Adler’s  launch of his hip home-décor brand, you can literally bring home any of his retro , modern finds right to your home. Palm Springs is favored with for a little R&R. In his case, that means research and reconnaissance. "I have uncovered layer upon layer of vintage shops," the 38-year-old New Yorker says. "Just when you think you've seen it all, you discover a place that sells used lingerie, and that's where you'll find a vintage Givenchy silk shirt."

There was one Givenchy, however, that it took a while for Adler to get his hands on. That was Merv Griffin's Resort & Givenchy Spa, an extravagant bit of architecture—even for Palm Springs—with an exterior that looked like a Versace version of Versailles. Opened in 1959 as California's first Holiday Inn, the hotel became singing cowboy Gene Autry's Melody Ranch until fellow crooner Griffin revamped it in the 1990's as a luxury resort that played host to Robert Downey Jr. (in his wilder days) and Barbra Streisand (who had a wall demolished to link two villas). "I had driven by it many times," Adler says, "and always thought, What the hell is that?"

He found out when hotelier Jack Parker commissioned him to turn the Givenchy into Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs. Now, standing between the breeze-block valet parking area and the orange-lacquered lobby doors, Adler say, “the design mantra that guided his makeover of this grande dame of desert getaways: "To unite happiness and chic."

Palm Springs undergone a regentrification over the last years, as newcomers connect with the glamour of another era and the fifties' futurist vision of resort life. I Love it hear!

The famous Hysteric Glamour Store Harajuku (Jet lag pic but had to make it my first stop)

After Living in Japan in late 90’s as a young, very young model. I found Hysteric Glamour.  Since then, I have been obsessed with it. I love how raw and real Nobuhiko is. I have always been a big fan of Punk and Rock N’ Roll. And Being true and authentic. And I feel that this guys owns it all. On my recent trip to Tokyo in 2016 I knew the first stop would be the Harajuku Hysteric Glamour shop. Low and behold they had coolest Tee's of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. I purchased one of each and knew my trip had a officially started in Japan.

Hysteric Glamour founder, Nobuhiko “Nobu” Kitamura was born in Tokyo, but growing up he loved Western bands like Television, The Stooges, MC5, and Blondie. One day while digging for imported records in Shinjuku he came across an ad for the Tokyo Mode Gakuin Fashion School, which happened to be nearby, and just like that, he decided to pursue a career in fashion. By 22, he started his own brand and called it "Hysteric Glamour".  Kitamura’s graphic influences are Warholian, and his favorite eras of pop culture. He describes it: “I like kind of dumb things. I like huge mass-market American cars from the ’60s, not Benzes.” Hysteric Glamour’s graphic direction draws the line between mass, obscure, and obscene. ’70s pornography is a big reference, as are anti-establishment punk slogans, indie comic books, psychedelia, and skulls. Kitamura once told Nylon Magazine: “When I was just starting out, there was no one doing what I was doing. I had no experience and no teachers, so I just read books. I had this book of Warhol’s philosophy and jokes, and it was a great reference. Though he never got to meet his idol, he eventually collaborated with The Warhol Foundation on a series of apparel. Some of the pieces are still available on resale sites like Grailed. Hysteric Glamour currently operates over 20 retail outposts in Japan, and can be bought online both at ZOZOTOWN and its own e-commerce platform. The cult label even gets a shout out in Gwen Stefani’s song “Harajuku Girls,” where the singer proclaims: “My boyfriend bought me a Hysteric Glamour shirt. They’re hard to find in the states, but got me feeling couture (it’s really cool).”

Finding a Spell in Bali! Spell Byron Bay.

On my trip to Bali  in 2015 I discovered Spell in every shop in Seminyak.  What I loved about spell is the flowing, feminine dresses and kimonos.  With my love for turquoise, Flora’s, and age-old-lace I had to pick up a couple pieces myself. Wearing them made me feel vibrant, sexy,  and expressive on my vacation. It brought back my spirit to life.  I was in Bali for transformation trip after a terrible break up. And wearing these garments everyone stopped me telling me how beautiful I looked. I was thinking to myself  is it because of all meditation I had done on this trip at my retreat or was it just  the clothing. But I knew it was both.  You feel the spirit of life when the dresses flow in the warm Bali air. Spell taps into that sense of nostalgia, beauty, and freedom.  And it fit the trip just perfect. Fashion is my art. I express the way I feel through the way I dress, what I wear expresses my energy. Spell expressed the re-birth of my Female Spirit.  And everyone noticed.

Spell began from two sisters from Byron bay, Australia. These two girls were descendants of Latvian Grandparents who fled from Europe to America, but ended up in  a refugee camp in Australia.  There hippie Parents, who were leather craftsman and potters, who hopped from town to town following their dreams. The two sisters followed their path to start the spell journey of their own dreams.

Finding Livy during Paris Fashion Week at Bon Marche!

After my recent trip to Paris Fashion week, while shopping at my favorite department store Bon Marche, I stumbled upon “Livy”. I was so excited to find this amazing lingerie and I wanted it all. I realized Livy is not just a brand; it is a creative venture for empowering women all over the world.   I wanted to find out more.

Not long ago Livy was launched by a French woman named Lisa Chavey. The groups Vog and Etam support the premium fashion lingerie label. Not only did she design for the greatest in luxury, she took part to the UNDIZ Adventure and created her own creative studio. This is where Livy was born.  So when I heard that Livy was created by the expression of modern women: “Multiple, Independent, Smart, Connected, Sexy, Ambitious, Daring, and Alive,” I knew I had to write about it!

Livy originally launched exclusively at Le Bon Marche. By the end of this year, they will open 10 stores with locations in Lyon, Bordeaux, the South of France and Geneva. In the next few months, they are opening stores in the US with locations in Beverly Hills and New York City. I was so excited to have quality Lingerie at the right price. From 100-150 euros with a collection that consist of 300 color codes, Split into three lines.

Edgy New York, Couture-conscious Paris, and laid back LA.

If you are in need of Livy lingerie now and cannot wait. Or don’t have time to fly to France, you can go to their web site or Place des Tendances to get some of this hot new lingerie. Otherwise you can wait for their launch in la and get it right here in the USA! I will be there! What about you??

The De La Vali Adventure at Chateau Marmont!

de la vali 4.jpg

Sitting at chateau marmount one night  I saw this tall blonde girl walking by with an all white lace jumpsuit, that was so striking and stunning, I had to find out where it came from. Low and  behold  she was the designer and owner of the company De La VAli.  We ended up sitting together  not realizing she was with a mutual friend at my table. Chateau   is special place and special things happen there.

After a few bites and few drinks. She started to tell me a bit about the collection.   And after a few more drinks  she said “come to my bungalow I want to dress you in them. Before I  knew it, my dream came true and I was being dressed in all these beautiful pieces from their collection.  Taking pictures all through the garden of chateau like some kind of bazar vogue shoot.  And that was the beginning of my obsession with De La Vali.  I always like to support new and independent brands. So I went online and made my order.

Jana Sascha and Laura Castro are two talented designers immersed out of the beauty of Ibiza.  Spending endless summers in Ibiza and the fact that I am an island girl (being born in Hawaii) , I felt really connected.

These two girls are superwomen, who have founded boutique fashion label, De La Vali. And have captivated such unique and sexy designs.  Influenced from the free spirited and bohemian life of the island, the collection is very sensual, feminine, and empowering.  This line has been a favorite and worn by Kate moss, Cara Delevingne,  Alice Dehal and many more A-listers.   If you need a little vali love then go to there site and get some. I know I did!!

Black Jaguar White Tiger

I have a very good friend who I look up to immensely. His courage and selfless soul move me. I call Eduardo, the Big Cat Hero. A man, who has the power to rescue, connect and communicate with animals. A man, who has given up his whole life to dedicate his time to saving Jaguars, Lions, Tigers... you name it, he saves it.

Eduardo gifted me the invitation of a lifetime to travel to Mexico and film the first documentary featuring his non-profit organization, Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation. I was elated. This was my chance to help animals and be a part of saving lives. So I helped in the way I knew best: through the vision of fashion.  I know it might sound superficial but fashion is my art and the way I express myself. So, Linalove1 Productions prepared to go down to Mexico to share with people this haven.

I stayed with Eduardo for two weeks. It was the most amazing adventure of my life. I arrived at Mexico City airport and Eduardo’s driver picked me up.  My head prickled with the excitement of what I had gotten myself into.  When I arrived to the house two baby white lions, Bedrock and Pryda, jumped on top of me. They were adorable and my focus went directly to them. When I looked up, there was beautiful jaguar. He was about 1 year old and peered through the glass with eyes so beautiful you could not imagine. Just behind him, were white lions and tigers. My jaw dropped from their immense beauty. Eduardo had saved all of these animals. Was I lucid dreaming, I wondered? I reached my hand up to touch the glass. We were paw to hand. This was the moment I knew how much I loved these animals. I had great joy and at the same time felt sadness. They deserved to be free and happy from the horrors of circuses. I could empathetically feel the pain he experienced. My eyes teared and my heart opened even more than before.  I get to be a part of it, to help.

Eduardo took us to see Stage One, a ranch outside Mexico City that is being converted into a reserve for these big cats. While we were there two rescues from a circus arrived which was incredible to watch. The caballeros pulled up the truck. No one knew the shape they would be in or their mental stability. Luke and Han emerged from the crates, two six month lions, and immediately checked out their surroundings, their new home. As they rolled in the grass and felt free, I felt like I was part of history in the making. I was observing the start of an incredible foundation and the joy of seeing animals free and happy.
